SPOILERS!!

I hate spoilers, especially when it comes to a book I'm reading. But, technically, I can edit out a part of this excerpt and so then it WON'T be a spoiler. Oh, I'm good. >w>
It might somewhat suck. But I'm working on this REALLY cool part of the 'Trapped' series that I MUST share. Sure, it's probably in the novel ahead of the one I'm working on, but I LOVE this part. Plus it gives something big away. Heehee. I'll go ahead and post a bit of it, even if something accidently slips and you get a spoiler. :P
But I can't post the excerpt YET, I have to finish this post first. So here goes:
I'm writing more in a journal which I keep. I might not post as often (and I know that I don't post often, believe me. I know.) Now I feel bad and probably will post even more often. :/ Eh, we'll figure out later, shall we not?
Also, I'm drawing a lot more. I might put up some of my doodles for you guys on 'Searching for Paradise' (http://mysearchforparadise.blogspot.com/)
Anyways, here's the excerpt (or what I have of it so far):

Nicole stared at me with her black eyes. "You... you aren't alive. Any of you. You're all dead. They told me you were dead. This isn't possible....how are you alive?" She looked as if she had seen a ghost. Pale skin turned paler and the shadows under her eyes seemed to momentarily disappear. The look of pure horror sent shivers down my spine, but I put a teasing face on.

"You sound as though you're upset about it." I smirked, but the face wouldn't hold. I hesitated and a confused look took over. This was my cousin! Why was she so angry at me?

Instead of replying, Nicole shook her head and her expression changed so fast I flinched. Her piercing glare stabbed me like daggers. She gave me an evil smile, "Oh no, not upset at all. We're almost exact opposites you know. I was hoping it would end this way."

End this way? I thought to myself, and Nicole dove. This wasn't Nicole, though. Nicole was a weak, scrawny fifteen year old that weighed only 102 pounds. No, this wasn't Nicole. This was a furious, 102 pound monster determined on finding and slaughtering its target, and I was lucky enough to be its target.

So this wasn't going to be the best day.

Nicole twisted in midair and snapped her foot out, aiming for my head. I ducked down just as she sailed over me head, but she twisted once again and nailed me in the back. Falling forwards, I snapped a leg out and kicked her in the face. She spat a tooth out to one side. That had to hurt.

But a tooth wasn't going to stop Nicole. She threw her fist out and I dropped just in time for it to whirl lethally above my head. What was going on? Why was Nicole like this?

"Dude, lighten up!" I told her as I jumped over her foot aiming to trip me. "I survived the horrible Institute of Discovery. Is that really so bad?"

"I. Put. You. There. In. The. First. Place." With each word Nicole took another aim at my head. "I. Wanted. You. To. Die." Okay, that was new. I was so surprised that I actually forgot to duck and she hit me square in the jaw.

It was my turn to spit out a tooth.

"But why?" I asked.

"You remember that crazy memory of mine?" Nicole ducked as I swung my arm towards her.

"Obviously." I ducked as Nicole snapped her fist out towards my neck.

"You made me angry." Nicole kicked me in the gut, and I staggered backwards a couple of steps. She was getting really good at fighting. "You broke my favorite toy when I was five, stomped on my pride when I was ten, and outshined me in everything imaginable. It was always 'Kristen did this' or 'Kristen did that'. I was an amazing student. I did everything to try and gain acceptance. But you were always better. My mother always wanted to know why I wasn't more like you. Well, there'll be no more of you to deal with after I'm through. Good-bye Kristen."

Since Nicole had been brawling with me, it was a surprise that she pulled out a knife. Why not pull it out before? Why? It was the question of the day.

"So, let me get this straight. YOU'RE jealous of ME." I rolled my eyes and ducked under the knife Nicole jabbed at me. My friends were looking kind of nervous in the background. Lea was biting her lip, Nick was jumping up each time Nicole took a stab at me, Ben was looking on edge, and Raevin was looking like, well, Raevin. It was hard to blame her. Taking a blow as big as she had, well, it was hard to take in.

"No, I'M here to KILL you." Nicole took a short glance at the group, but continued attacking me. "I can persuade people with my soul. I insisted that I was insane, but made a scientist put me in the Institute of Discovery so I could make sure my job was done. I just happened to escape and be reunited with... an old friend you could say."

Now the boys who were always with her were staring at her like she had grown an extra eye. One of them was backing away slowly. That was weird. I snapped a leg up and kicked the knife out of her hand, but she caught it again and moved towards me like a predator watching prey.

"So who'd you meet?" I wanted to know, keeping a close eye on her every move.

Nicole's jaw tensed, "None of your business." And still the boy backed away. Nicole snapped her gaze towards him. "Oh stop being a wimp. It's not like you haven't suspected it all along." The boy faltered and stopped moving.

I looked at Nicole wearily. How long was this going to last? "Seriously, who'd you meet?"
"I told you NONE. OF. YOUR. BUSINESS!" Nicole screamed, diving at me and planting the knife in the wall directly where my head had just been. I breathed out slowly as I stood up again to the right of Nicole. The knife wasn't leaving the wall any time soon. She glowered at me and let go of the knife. "Fine, you want to know?"
